A curse is an affliction suffered by a vampire which is caused by the corruption of their True Name. This corruption causes a vampire to lose control of themselves, leading to both the violent pursuit of blood and the manifestation of new monstrous aspects and abilities. The precise way in which a curse manifests depends on which malnomen (false/corrupted name) a vampire is given.
A vampire that has been cursed is called a curse-bearer
